“Raise ‘Em Up” was written by Tom Douglas, Jaren Johnston (of the Cadillac Three) and Jeffrey Steele, but Urban had his own plan when he heard it. The three writers intended for this song to be sung by just one individual, rather than a twosome, but for the American Idol judge, a collaboration with Church was a no-brainer.
